The FAFSA is free to complete and is used to determine eligibility for federal aid, including federal Pell Grants, which are awarded by the government to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need (students who have a bachelor’s or professional degree are not eligible).

Other sources of need-based financial aid at CSU include scholarships, grants and student employment. These awards are offered to eligible students based on their qualifications, including class rank, academic record and extracurricular activities.

In addition to need-based scholarships, there are a number of merit-based scholarships at CSU. These scholarships are awarded based on your academic record and other factors, and many require letters of recommendation or other documents to be considered.

To apply for these scholarships, you must fill out the CSU Scholarship Application. This application is available on the financial aid website.
