Studio Nendo created a ‘transparent wooden table’. It is made of clear acrylic in a wooden shape with a strong grain. The resulting parts were put together to make the table. The designers then faithfully reproduced the butt ends and chamfered the edges like floorboards and matched the grain ends and dimensions of the wood used for the table legs to the “transparent wood” to create a uniform piece. The two tables have specific and different optical effects: At first glance, the black table is made of wood, but a closer look reveals its transparency, while the clear table is transparent at first glance and only later shows its wooden shape. I think it is a very creative piece of furniture that really attracts attention not only for its color but also for its shape and original design.
