This relaxing vacation home is located in Emu Bay, Australia. It offers a panoramic view of the sea but is protected from the wind. There are several terraces with wooden decks that offer outdoor seating depending on the wind direction. The sheltered backyard, framed by the building’s two bedroom wings, large water tanks, and wooden grids, focuses on a wood-burning pizza oven. Corrugated cardboard, wooden windows, floors and terraces reinforce the relaxed, timeless holiday atmosphere, while the floating roof shape adds drama to the exposed location. The living area has also been designed to offer breathtaking views with floor to ceiling windows. The house was designed with green technologies in mind. It has double glazing, intelligent cross ventilation and fans for cooling and a highly efficient combustion heater for heating. Hot water comes from an efficient electric heat pump.
