IAAC’s Fab Lab House is a breakthrough in solar system integration. It has an organic shape, some high-tech features, and very affordable construction costs. The house is mainly made of wood, plywood and other materials that are available worldwide, light and manageable. Not only does it have a rounded shape that allows for maximum internal volume with minimal external space, but it is also raised on three legs above the ground to make room under the house for some outdoor activities. The solar house comfortably accommodates a family of four within 75 m2, thus enabling the manufacture and construction of the entire apartment in less than fifteen days. It also generates three times the energy it consumes and is also home to an orchard to produce food.
