Live Work Residence Designed For An Interior Designer And A Modern Abstract Painter

This live work residence was designed for an interior designer and modern abstract painter on Sunset Hill in Seattle. Views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Peninsula are devoid of structural barriers with dramatic openings, while the opposite side is firmer and more private. The main building materials are concrete for walls and steel for frames. The mass consists of volumes that slope from north to south on terraces. Lattice and green roofs cradle the upper floor and the master suite in a private and dramatic setting. The overall design is modern, but livable and functional. [Studio Ectypos]
