What kind of living space can be created in just 425 square meters? A great loft! Specht Harpman Architects managed to create a spacious loft in a rather clumsy apartment in New York City. By creating “living platforms”, they were able to meet all the needs of an apartment while keeping the space open and bright. The compact bathroom is on the ground floor under the stairs. While the kitchen is small, it remains open to the living room. They kept the cabinets and countertops white, which keeps them light and airy. Up the first flight of stairs you have the bedroom layer that almost seems to float above the living room below. And there is plenty of storage space under the stairs. What a great job!
