The compact karst house by dekleva gregorič arhitekti is inspired by the tradition of small, compact, stony and almost windowless houses in the Karst region of Italy. The house is a monolithic volume with two inserted wooden volumes connected to the intermediate landing. The house in a house concept allows each bedroom to function as a wooden house, literally feeling like sleeping in your own house and not in a room. The design of the house deals with the relationship between present and tradition; The decor is minimalistic with lots of light natural wood that gives the minimal space a warm and cozy feel.
