This apartment in Amsterdam is a renovation project by Mamm Design for a maisonette unit in an 85 year old house for a family of four. Since they didn’t grow up in Amsterdam, where they have a lot of cloudy weather, their request was to have maximum sunlight in the house. The designers took away the stairs, walls, and part of the upper floor slab to allow sunlight to spread throughout the house, and the family was connected as they wanted at the same time.
