If you’ve seen the film In Bruges with Colin Farrell, you may already know this little town in Belgium. If not, then you should know that Bruges is a pretty old city with a lot of old buildings. This small townhouse is one of them but has recently been renovated by 51N4E architects. The house is in the historic center of Briges and was a store before the renovation. The double-height room, completely covered with wooden planks, begins as an arch that gradually rises asymmetrically backwards, framing the tall tree of a neighboring garden. The old house has been completely renovated with partly new floors and new color schemes for the facade, walls and ceilings. The custom-made kitchen furniture with an integrated fireplace also serves as a work area and becomes the new center of the house. The house has a generously lit winter garden. The interior is a great example of how cool vintage and modern styles can be mixed.
