Architect Eric Joseph Tremblay’s cottage sits on the shores of Gate Lake on gently sloping land of nearly 80,000 pi2 near the border of a mature cedar forest area with sloping majestic trunks. The exterior cladding of the house is made of stone and cedar wood, natural and site-specific materials. The roofs follow the slope of the house in order to minimize the volume and to harmonize its integration into the landscape. The interior of the chalet looks very fresh and inspired by nature: beige, gray, green and light natural wood seem to continue the landscape outside, and modern furniture from the mid-century make the room more cozy and inviting.
