The Hong Kong Villa is a dream home in Shek-O, a historic fishing village in the southeast corner of Hong Kong Island. It uses the surrounding landscape with large glass surfaces that allow a view in all directions. Strong horizontal lines extend from the building into the landscape and create large covered terraces that are protected from the semi-tropical climate. There are also many features that make the house modern and stylish, for example: transitions between inside and outside are seamless, angles are correct, shapes are simple and so on. The interiors are richly decorated with native teak and imported woods from the Pacific Northwest. The fun and private living quarters are on one level, and the garage, servants’ quarters, and other support rooms are on a lower level located in the sloping construction site.
