Patio House With The Bright Yellow Facade

The S-House is located on one of the islands of IJburg and was designed by VMX Architects. Two classic typologies are combined in the design: the patio villa and the manor house or domus. The house was divided horizontally into three parts. The ground floor is designed as a basement, with the entrance to the house, storage space and a large play and hobby room next to the garden. The terrace with the kitchen is an open space on the first floor. The living room or lounge overlooking the garden and the street is above the kitchen. The top floor of the house is reserved for the bedrooms and bathroom. The facades of the S-Haus are clad with bright yellow tiles, which clearly distinguish the house from all other houses in the same row.
