SB Architects’ Bernal Height Residence is an amazing contemporary home built on a 2,100 square foot hillside lot. The website gave designers the idea to build a central stair core that is surrounded by private areas. The main living spaces are located on the top floor and offer breathtaking views of the San Francisco skyline and lots of natural light. The corner position and internal spatial organization created an external expression that broke away from horizontal constraints and created a mixture of strong horizontal and vertical lines interrupted by a cantilevered roof.
