We usually think of a basement as a dark place that could become a man’s den, but not a teenage room. Although Annie Selke has managed to transform her basement into a very bright and colorful, youth-friendly bedroom. Her daughter is 17 years old and she chose this large room that feels like a mini studio apartment rather than another room in the house. Much dirt has been removed from the foundation and real windows have been cut out. Thanks to this, a lot of natural light flows in and the room becomes anything but dark. In addition, many different bright pieces of furniture and wall decorations were used, making the basement a very colorful and happy place to live.
